Essay: My Favorite Subject

We are learning many subjects in school. But History is favorite subject.

History tells US about the past. It is the record of social cultural political events and human progress as well as regress in the past. From it we come to know what great people did. It tells us about various discoveries and inventions in science. It records wars, adventures and development of human belt. Learning history adds to my knowledge. It helps to develop power of thinking and judging.

History covers a vast span of time and innumerable eve in past. It records the teachings of the Buddha and Shankaracharya, It describes the kingship and great heroism of kings like Akbar, Rana Pratap, Shivaji and many others. It tells us how Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and other leaders keenly fought for our independence. History records many names, many dates, many brave deeds of human progress. They inspire us.

I have a good collection of historical books. Reading them helps me to widen my outlook. It is the subject of my true interest.
