Essay: My favorite game

There are many foreign games played over the world like cricket, football, badminton, golf, racing skating, and many others. Some games are typically Indian like kabaddi, kho-kho. I enjoy all these games. But the game I like to play myself the most is badminton.

Badminton is a western game. It is an indoor game. It is played in a hall, which is called a court. It is played between two single players which is called ‘singles’. It is also played in four players making two pairs, which is called double game.

This game needs some implements to play. Each player must have racket in his hand. The players standing opposite facing to each other. A net is hung between them. There is a shuttle made of feathers and cork. The opposite players toss the shuttle to each other above the net with their rackets failure to toss it is counted as a point.

There are certain rules of the game the players must follow. The referee counts the points. The player who makes the maximum points over the other player within the fixed time limit wins.

The game is little bit costly, because of the necessary implements. But I like it because of its benefits. This game gives a full exercise. While playing badminton one must be alert and watchful to the shuttle. The player must have strong hands to hold the racket and re toss the shuttle with full strength. The player must be active enough to reach the shuttle.

He should run and his movement’s should be swift. He should jump, bend and hop. He should have full judgment and skill of tossing and placing the shuttle at such a place that he wins a point. All these qualities of a good badminton player get into us if we practice the game daily. That’s why I like this game very much and never miss to play it.
