Essay: My School - Life Or Memories of School-Life

It was a golden period of my life when I was a school-boy. For me sweet are the memories of the school-days. Deep are the impressions of school-life and unforgettable are the experiences in schooldays. On occasions the whole chart of memorable moments in school-life moves in front of my eyes.

I spent first ten years of my childhood in a small and beautiful village. My grandfather enrolled my name in the village Primary School when I was five. A school was a totally new concept for me. On its first day I was afraid. My heart was throbbing. But when I found the school to be nice I liked it. Our teacher was very kind and loving to us. He used to tell us stories and teach through them. There my education began. There I learnt 'my first A.B.C. and began a joyful period in my life. Meanwhile my father got a job in the city. We shifted there. I started going the high school. I come from a rural background. So I became a laughing stock for some days at the beginning. But I proved my capacities within some days and caught attention of my teachers.

I used to attend the school regularly. I used to study all the subjects equally. But mathematics was my favourite subject. I used to score highest marks in it and never missed my top ranks. I developed liking in sports. I participated in football matches. I was the backbone of the team. I was also interested in elocution and took part in its competitions. I won many shields and trophies. I brought laurels to my highschool. I was the favourite student of my teachers and the Principal. When I passed the S.S.C. examination with flying colours they came to my home to congratulate me. It was a very emotional day and the greatest reward for me.

I was a successful student. The credit of it goes to all of my teachers. I got very good teachers throughout my school life. They were devoted teachers and- the worshipers of good values. They embedded in our mind the good and the virtues like hard work, honesty, courage helping and respecting the elders. They parted their knowledge with us. They gave us good thoughts and broadened our outlook. They developed in us a habit of rational thinking. What I am today is a personality cut out and shaped by my teachers in my schooldays.

When I memorise my school-life, I feel that once again became a child and experience my golden days. But alas! It’s not possible. So I always carry in my mind the rich treasure of sweet memories of my school-life and share it with my close friends who are my old class-mates.
