Short and simple essay on The Independence Day

The Independence Day


It was the red lettered day in the history of India.  The British flag was taken down from the Red Fort. Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the Indian Tiranga Zanda there. India became free from the long British rule. It was on 15th August 1947 golden day has become a day of pride and pleasure for Indians. (Essay on independence day)

Every year 15th of August is celebrated as a national day. The Government declares a public holiday. People all over country celebrate the day with great Youths gather together on the cross-roads and public places. They decorate the place with small flags. They celebrate flag-hoisting in front of photographs of the martyrs like Bhagat Singh. They pay their homage to them. They play records of patriotic and historical songs. (Essay on independence day)

Early in the morning children and teachers in their uniform assemble on the school play-ground which they clean on previous day. They display photographs of martyrs and lend there. In Delhi, the capital of India, the Independence Day is celebrated with grandeur. The Prime Minister hoists the national flag. It then accorded a salute of bars of twenty one guns. The military plays our national anthem. Then the Prime Minister delivers speech. The President's speech is broadcast on the previous eve. On this day flags are unfurled on all government offices. It is a day of great enthusiasm. People treat it as an auspicious day and make openings of their new shops and offices. People arrange get-togethers and celebrate this historic day with great gusto. (Essay on independence day)
